Thursday announced another sea of red ink for its fourth quarter 2001 results, but its new senior management team nevertheless provided upbeat projections for the company's micro-turbines that are able to run on a variety of gaseous and liquid fuels.

Next-day power prices in the Pacific Northwest eased Thursday as forecasts called for above-normal temperatures and mild conditions. In the desert Southwest above-normal temperatures had little impact on next-day power and prices moved little. In California next-day power inched higher.( more )

Even with demonstrated demand and a growing backlog of orders, micro-turbine maker Capstone Turbine Corp., Chatsworth, CA, Thursday again reported red ink for the first quarter of its fiscal year ended June 30 with a net loss of $10.5 million, or 13 cents/share, compared to a loss of $9.4 million, or 12 cents/share, for the same period in 2003. The company, which has concentrated on research throughout much of its existence, has never shown a profit and keeps drawing down on multi-million-dollar cash reserves.

| 10. Natural Gas and Electric Trucks Coming to the Port of Los Angeles |

The Los Angeles Harbor Commission has approved spending $44.3 million for natural gas-powered trucks in the port, which combined with that of neighboring Long Beach makes up the nation's busiest harbor and one that has suffered from some of the most polluted air in the Los Angeles Basin. In its 2009 Clean Truck Incentive Program, Seal Beach, CA-based Clean Energy expects to provide the majority of the 1,000 alternative-fueled trucks targeted by the end of this year.( more )
